The sewing machines were humming away at camp today! Kids in both groups were busy selecting fabrics & garments, cutting, measuring and sewing on the machines and by hand. You could feel the excitement in the air and see how much fun they were having being creative!
Today we are opening registration for our 2024 Omaha Fashion Camp! Camp will be July 8-12 next year at the Empire Room. We will have a 6-10 year old group and an 11-17 year old group again next year. As a current camp family, you will be the first group to access camp registration and you get a returning family special offer of $25 off your registration if you book before August 31. Kids (ages 6-10)
Today was a big day for our kids! We started off with the relay game to pull everyone out of the rainy blues! By the time we got to our runway walks the energy was extremly positive, with campers encouraging and cheering for each other as they walked. They then headed to the Goodwill pop up to select an item to repurpose into a wrap skirt. Each camper cut and pinned their skirt today, to set them up for success tomorrow.
Question to ask your camper: What was your wrap skirt before you flipped it?
Teens (ages 11-17)
The teens had a large task today and ABSOLUTELY amazed us all. They were tasked with presenting their ideas to the South High teachers and developing a concept that can be accomplished in our allotted time. We are lucky to have the expertise of our South High fashion faculty at camp. They run the most comprehensive school fashion program in Omaha.
Every preteen+teen camper was able to begin sewing projects today. Campers who finished their looks for Friday were challenged with reworking a pair of men’s slacks into a new look/concept, we are excited to see what they show us on Friday!
